Dolores Catania reveals that Bravo is upset with the cast of RHONJ over “off-camera” drama and teases a casting “shake-up” for season 15.
“NBC’s going to shake things up with us,” Dolores Catania said on the Trading Secrets podcast.
She continued, “There was some stuff off-camera they weren’t happy about, and it just got too ugly at the moment. And I think it got so hot it needs to cool down … I don’t know the fate of the show, but you never know from year to year whether you’re getting signed up again.”
While Dolores didn’t mention the exact incidents that caused Bravo to become angry with the RHONJ cast, social media hijinks and drama between the cast reached a fever pitch over the last year or so.
The drama between the RHONJ cast has become so ugly off-camera that cast members have refused to film together on camera, leaving a clear and bitter divide among the cast. This, in turn, forced Bravo to work extra hard to get the cast together and create a solid season of drama.
Dolores admits that she warned her co-stars to “stop” their bad behavior, which was pushing “the network to a breaking point.”
“I saw it coming,” she said, noting that at this point, event production doesn’t “know” if or when the show will return for season 15.
“They said, ‘Well, you know, talk to you next year,’” she recalled. “It didn’t work out good for [Real Housewives of New York]. They didn’t get called … Maybe from some divine intervention, something good will happen.”
However, Dolores says she is putting it “into the universe” that RHONJ will return “stronger than ever.”
“Every year I tell myself I’m fired,” she joked before adding, “So if I have a job … I’m excited.”
Real Housewives of New Jersey isn’t expected to return for season 15 until late 2025 or early 2026.
