RHOM couple Julia Lemigova and Martina Navratilova have expanded their family by adopting two young boys. Get all the details.
According to their rep, Real Housewives of Miami star Julia Lemigova and her wife, Martina Navratilova, have adopted two young boys.
“They are delighted and request that they are now given the space and privacy to welcome the new members of their family,” the RHOM couple’s rep said in a statement to PEOPLE.
The couple are thrilled to be expanding their family.
“We are over the moon recognizing the challenges and the rewards for everybody,” Martina said in a statement.
Julia and Martina, who tied the knot in 2014, have requested that they be given space and privacy as they welcome their new sons into their family.
However, their privacy will be short-lived as Bravo cameras are expected to pick up in September for season 7.
The RHOM couple’s plan to adopt has been in the works for quite some time. During season 5, Julia Lemigova revealed her desire to adopt with her wife after her daughters all moved out. Yet, their plans were put on pause when Martina was diagnosed with cancer.
Julia later explained at the season 5 reunion that it wasn’t the right time for her family to adopt as they were dealing with Martina’s health scare.
“When you’re adopting a child, it has to be about the child. And, right now, it’s everything about Martina, and for her getting healthy. So, we’re putting it on hold,” Julia said. “You know, we were thinking any moment, the agency would call and give us the happy news that we’re going to have a baby … instead, we are fighting two cancers.”
In June 2023, Martina announced she was cancer-free. By December of that same year, the couple teased that they weren’t “closing the door” on their hopes to adopt.
The Real Housewives of Miami is expected to return to Bravo in mid-2025.
