In a new preview for season 18 of RHOC, Shannon Beador details the argument she had with ex-boyfriend John Janssen moments before getting behind the wheel for her DUI.
On Tuesday, Bravo released a new promo clip for season 18 of the Real Housewives of Orange County, which premieres on Thursday, July 11, at 9 p.m. ET.
In the clip, Shannon Beador has a heartfelt conversation about her September 2023 DUI arrest with her daughters, Stella, Adeline, and Sophie.
Shannon expresses remorse for missing dropping Stella off at college before apologizing for her actions, which ultimately led to her being arrested for DUI.
“It was my intent to come and visit you [at college], and because of my mistakes, I wasn’t able to come,” Shannon tells Stella. “I feel bad. I’m so sorry and humiliated that I disappointed you.”
“Like, what kind of example am I at 59?” she asks.
Stella and her sisters tell their mother they are “glad that you’re okay and no one was hurt.”
The 19-year-old then suggests that Shannon “take accountability for your actions” and learn from her mistakes.
In her RHOC season 18 confessional, Shannon Beador shares more details about the events leading up to her arrest.
According to Shannon, after driving to her ex-boyfriend, John Jansen’s home, the two got into an argument, in which John called her a “drunken idiot” before telling her not to drive.
“I got in an accident seconds later because I revved up the engine so he could know how mad I was, and I lost control of the car immediately,” she claims.
Shannon adds, “Never broken a bone, I’ve never had a concussion, I’ve never been in an accident, I’ve never been arrested, never had a DUI, and I did all that in 10 seconds.”

She recently completed her court-ordered community service.
