Brittany Cartwright is shutting down the haters, questioning her son’s well-being amid her split from Jax Taylor. Plus, The Valley star opens up about marriage woes.
Brittany Cartwright slammed fans who had the audacity to share comments about her 3-year-old son Cruz’s “well-being” amid her separation from her husband, Jax Taylor.
“You guys can reel in the drama of my life I don’t care but leave my innocents [sic] sons name out of it!!! Don’t act like you know anything about him watching 30 mins of a show recorded last summer,” the 35-year-old wrote in a pointed Instagram Story message on Tuesday.
“I do everything I possibly can for him, so how dare some of you!?” the Bravo star continued. “ENOUGH he is a perfect and innocent child, and I will not have strangers acting like they know what’s going on in his life.”
“Talk about me talk about his father I don’t care but enough is enough!!!!!!”
While Brittany Cartwright did not share the comments she was referencing, a source told PEOPLE that she is “hurt” by remarks about her son’s “well-being.”
“She is highly protective over her son, as any caring mother would be. Despite what she is going through personally in her marriage, her and Jax have always and continue to put their son first,” the insider explained.
“He remains their number one priority, and they have done a great job co-parenting during this rather turbulent time.”
The source added, “They are both incredibly attentive and loving parents and give Cruz absolutely everything he needs. He is a happy child, and that’s all that really matters.”
Meanwhile, Brittany also recently hinted at the deeper marital issues she and Jax face behind closed doors just days after he was spotted out and about with model Paige Woolen, 32.
On Instagram, the reality star shared a reel from @YouKnowNat, in which the influencer blasts Jax’s treatment of his wife on The Valley.
“Thank you, & just imagine what I’ve been through behind closed doors,” Brittany wrote alongside the clip.
The clip featured Jax screaming at his wife for being sick on a group trip to Big Bear, California.
The Vanderpump Rules OG blamed his wife’s nausea on excessive drinking and implied she had a long-standing issue with alcohol. Brittany denied the allegations and insisted that she hadn’t had anything to drink. Instead, she blamed her illness on stress caused by the issues in her marriage.
“Like, this is his show that’s supposed to be about his bar, his community, and his friends, and he brought his family onto this show, and this is what he’s doing to her? Like, he’s choosing to present her in that kind of light and to treat her like that,” @YouKnowNat said in the video.
“This is what he’s doing to her in front of everybody.”
“To put her on this show and treat her like this, he knew he was going to leave her, he knew it was over, and he knew it would be good TV and that he wouldn’t get punished by the people around him, aka producers, at all,” the influencer theorized in the video.
“If it’s good TV, it flies. What a terrible position for her to be in. Of course, she’s not feeling good.”
Brittany and Jax — who share 2-year-old son, Cruz — announced their separation in February after five years of marriage.
The Valley airs on Tuesdays at 9 pm on Bravo.
