Brittany Cartwright spotted moving into rental home after Jax Taylor claims they are living together. Get all the scoop on this Bravo split.

On Thursday, February 29, Brittany Cartwright announced that she and Jax were “taking time apart.” The Vanderpump Rules alum announced the news on her and Jax’s podcast When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany.

“Yes, marriages in general are very hard, and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” the Kentucky native said in the episode.

“Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”

The 35-year-old didn’t reveal what led to the split, noting that she “won’t get into too many details because this is still very hard to talk about.”

“I’m taking things one day at a time,” she added. “I don’t know what the future holds, but right now, my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz.”

A few hours later, Page Six caught up with Jax Taylor as he was exiting a gym in Los Angeles. The Vanderpump Rules OG insisted that his split with Brittany Cartwright “is not divorce.”

He then claimed, “We’re together. We’re living in our home right now.”

“She was in a house for a while, but yeah, she’s back now,” Jax added, noting he and Brittany are trying to “figure out” their next steps and that their separation “is all fresh and new.”

“It’s not evil or nastiness,” the 44-year-old insisted. “It’s just two people that you now are hitting a 10-year mark in their marriage.”

“We’re just spending some time apart and just trying to re-assess, you know, our situation,” he explained. “We have a child involved, and we just wanna do what’s best for our kid.”

Despite Jax’s claims, on Friday, TMZ captured photos of Brittany Cartwright moving belongings from her marital home to the nearby rental home she’s currently living in.

Insiders tell the outlet that Brittany and Jax are in fact living separately. The two have reportedly been fighting quite a bit over the past year, ultimately leading to their separation.

The insider adds that Jax and Brittany need space and time away from each other, including living under different roofs.

Meanwhile, another source tells Page Six that Jax and Brittany “are not on a path to reconciliation” before reiterating they are “taking time apart.”

The insider says Jax misconstrued Brittany’s recent return to their marital home to “pack up her stuff.”

“She was back there yesterday to pack up her stuff to go to another rental,” the source said. “Maybe that’s why he said, ‘Oh, she’s back home now,’ because there was a day in between her rentals.”

As for why Jax claimed he and Brittany were “together” the source insists that the 44-year-old knows were his relationship with his wife stands.

“I don’t know why he said that — I think he was just caught off guard,” the insider adds.

Jax and Brittany met in 2015 at the Gold Spike Lounge in Las Vegas. The Kentucky native quickly moved to Los Angeles to be with Jax and first appeared on season 4 of Vanderpump Rules. By 2016, Brittany had landed a job at SUR and became an official VPR cast member

In 2017, Jax and Brittany briefly split while dealing with the fallout over Jax cheating on Brittany with their co-star Faith Stowers.

After enduring a rocky fall and summer of 2017, the former SUR couple were officially back together by December.

Jax popped the question in June 2018, and the couple said ‘I do’ a little more than a year later in 2019.

They welcomed their son, Cruz, in April 2021.

Only time will tell if Brittany and Jax can fix their marriage, but stay glued to AllAboutTRH for all the latest updates as they come.

Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
