Ally Lewber Denies James Kennedy Abuse Allegations

Vanderpump Rules’ Ally Lewber is setting the record straight amid rumors that her boyfriend, James Kennedy, has been physically abusive toward her throughout their relationship.

On the Friday, February 9 episode of Scheana Shay’s Scheananigans podcast, the Vanderpump Rules OG brought up the rumors that James Kennedy has been abusive towards girlfriend, Ally Lewber.

Scheana recalled Teddi Mellencamp‘s comments from a December 2023 episode of the Two Ts in a Pod podcast, where she and co-host Tamra Judge discuss sharing a car with James and Ally after the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

“I think it was two years ago now [after the MTV Movie & TV Awards]. And she said that they were heading to an after party at TomTom. And during that car ride there was an altercation between two people in the car, which made her and Teddi have to get out of the car,” Scheana explained. “They had to separate the two individuals in the car. And [they] further suggested that James was involved, and now there’s rumors flying around that Teddi might have hinted at an altercation between you and James.”

Ally Lewber immediately shut down the insinuations about her fight with boyfriend, James Kennedy.

“That’s crazy to me that that’s the most asked question [for me]. That makes me really sad, because no, I’m good. That never happened. There was no physical altercation,” the 28-year-old told Scheana. “Yes, we were in the car together. I thought we were having fun. We were having fun. But then James and I did get into an argument, but there was no physical assault. I was not bleeding, and they didn’t have to get out of the car and separate us. So that didn’t happen. That’s all I’ll say on that.”

The 28-year-old aspiring singer maintains that James has never “physically hurt” her or “assaulted” her during their two year relationship.

“We’re good. We’re happy. He’s working on himself. I know in the past that he has anger issues. So I get it,” she insists. “But I just want people to know that I’m good and I’m safe and I love him.”

Scheana then asked whether or not James Kennedy was drinking during their 2022 disagreement after the MTV Movie & TV Awards.

“He was still drinking. Yeah, we were all drunk in the back of that car. Yeah, that’s true,’” Ally explained. “But nothing happened physically. I mean, we went to TomTom. We showed up at TomTom and we had fun. It was, like, a good night. I don’t think that that was, like, the moment or, like, the night when we were like, ‘OK, drinking is not great.’”

She added: “We would fight when we would drink. I would drink and pick [fights]. When you drink that much and in those environments, it is not great. That’s not who we really are. That’s an example of why he shouldn’t drink.”

The Good As Gold singer then brought up the fact that both of James’ ex-girlfriends, Rachel “Raquel” Leviss and Kristen Doute have hinted that James may have been physically abusive towards them during their relationships.

James and Raquel dated from 2016 to 2021 while Kristen and James were an on-again, off-again couple from 2014-2016.

While appearing on Bethenny Frankel’s ReWives podcast, in August 2023, Raquel Leviss alleged that James Kennedy was abusive towards her during their six-year relationship. She also claimed that James was also abusive towards his ex-girlfriend Kristen Doute.

“Kristen was just starting to talk about her tumultuous relationship with James Kennedy and what happened behind closed doors. Then all of a sudden she’s presented with this spinoff,” Raquel, 28 alleged. “I believe [it] is a way to silence her — to keep that under wraps — so that the longevity of Vanderpump Rules can continue.”

“I’ve seen him be a violent person so I have no doubt that what she’s saying is true. I hope that one day it will come to light and there will be justice,” Raquel added. “It is interesting because the cast members that were fired and canceled at that time, now have this big comeback because this scandal is so salacious that we are the ultimate villains — Tom [Sandoval] and I — and now they have a platform to redeem themselves.”

Bravo has denied Raquel’s claims

Meanwhile, Scheana noted on her podcast that she “just wanted to give” Ally “a safe space” to address the allegations and share anything that was on her mind.

“Thank you. Because I didn’t know,” the 28-year-old replied. “I’m like, do I go on my Instagram to say, ‘I’m good, guys?’ Like, I don’t know how to navigate these types of things. And this is something that’s very serious. And I do appreciate everyone worried about me. But I do want everyone to know I’m good.”

Despite Ally denying allegations James was abusive towards her, the fodder around James’ alleged abusive behavior continues to be a hot topic online.

Most recently, Bethenny Frankel accused Bravo of protecting James amid the allegations in order to protect the network and the success of Vanderpump Rules.

Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
