Gretchen Rossi is opening up about what made her a great Housewife during her time on RHOC. Plus, she reveals if she’d ever return to the world of Real Housewives.
Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi recently appeared on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast, where she discussed her tenure on reality television.
The 46-year-old sat with RHOC producer, Alex Baskin, who hosts Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast and had a full-on retrospective about what made her a great Housewife.
“My presence alone just pissed people off,” Gretchen said when ask what made her a good Housewife.
Gretchen laughed at her ability to piss people off which she notes made for great reality TV.
She noted that it was always a hoot to walk in the room and watch her fellow OC Housewives lose their shit.
When asked what is was about her mere presence that got all the other Housewives so riled up, Gretchen chalked it up to sheer jealousy.
“I think that I’m just a happy person, and it takes a lot to take me down, and I think that irritates them,” Gretchen explained.
“I think it just comes down to jealousy,” she continued. “They literally were angry with me that I was happy.”
The now mom of one notes that she probably would have never gave that answer ten years ago however stepping away from the Housewives bubble has given her some perspective on the show and her former co-stars.
Gretchen says that if she were to return to RHOC fans would see a completely different side of her.
The former RHOC star says that she and partner Slade Smiley are “such different people” these days, noting that they would like to share their lives today, which includes being parents to their daughter, Skylar, with fans.
However, while promoting her appearance on the Hot Mic podcast, Gretchen Rossi teased what it would take for Bravo to get her back on RHOC.
Gretchen admitted that she doesn’t need the BS of of Real Housewives and hinted that Bravo “knows my terms to make it worth my while.”
In another reply, she added: “They would have to make me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Otherwise [it’s] just not worth it to me.”
The former Housewife also teased that her life with Slade lacks the kind of “drama” Bravo is probably looking for when it comes to Housewives.
“No drama here. Hard life stuff for sure but not drama,” Gretchen told one fan who commented that it’s clear she’s not “filled with drama.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County will return for season 18 in mid-to-late 2024.
