RHONJ star Melissa Gorga calls out her husband, Joe Gorga, for overreacting at his son Gino’s wrestling match.
On Thursday’s episode of the “On Display with Melissa Gorga” podcast, RHONJ couple Melissa and Joe Gorga discussed Joe recently being tossed out of his son Gino Gorga’s wrestling match after freaking out on the referee.
While Melissa at least admitted that Joe “overreacted” at the match, Joe took zero accountability for his behavior. In fact, the RHONJ couple put all the blame on Gino’s opponent playing dirty.
“OK, so you lost your cool,” the RHONJ star told her husband. “You overreacted.”
Joe explains that he had no idea the moment had been captured on camera or that it would be leaked to the press for public consumption. In fact, Joe laments that his whole life feels like a reality show at this point.
“I can’t even go to a wrestling match anymore. It’s a reality show. Everything’s a reality show,” the RHONJ husband said. “It’s ridiculous.”
The New Jersey businessman then sent a stern warning to others who may try to exploit his private life in the future.
“Leave me the hell alone,” he quipped. “Let me be with my son or something, my God!”
As AllAboutTRH previously reported, the RHONJ husband was ejected from his son Gina’s high school wrestling match for storming the mat during a meet.
Joe lost it when his son, Gino, lost his wrestling match. He quickly got up from his seat, charging at the referee.
That’s when parents and staff members jumped in. The referee demanded that Joe leave the gym while Gino stood there silently.
TMZ reports that Joe Gorga has justified his actions by saying that he felt the ref made some bad and unfair calls during the match and that Gino’s opponent was “mistreating” him.
Joe says he never had intentions of hurting anyone or getting physical. But that his son’s opponent was “conducting himself in an unsportsmanlike manner throughout the match, and the ref let it slide.”
