Bethenny Frankel vows never to make reality TV comeback as it would “traumatize” and “embarrass” her daughter Brynn, who finds it “trashy.”
Real Housewives of New York alum Bethenny Frankel claims she has ZERO intention of ever returning to the world of Bravo and reality TV.
The 53-year-old reveals that her 13-year-old daughter Brynn Hoppy isn’t a fan of the show that made her famous, and because of that, she would NOT return to Real Housewives.
“I see reality television through a different lens because my daughter is embarrassed,” Bethenny Frankel told Stellar Magazine via DailyMail.com.
“There’s not a world where I would go back because she finds it trashy,” the Skinnygirl mogul added.
She went on to claim that children who appear on reality TV can, more often than not, be left traumatized by the experience.
“The powers-that-be can be very convincing, which is why there are so many children and spouses on reality TV,” she said.
“They don’t want to be on, and they get chewed up and spat out in the process. As they get older, they’re embarrassed,” the RHONY alum continued. “They’re traumatised. They have emotional issues. That’s something you didn’t know you were signing up for.”
The ReWives podcast host shared similar sentiments while appearing on Max’s Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? earlier this year.
Bethenny says that becoming a mother changed her perspective on reality TV.
“I think that as a mother who has a 13-year-old daughter, I do see through a different lens now than I did when I started,” the former Bravo star shared.
Bethenny welcomed Brynn with her now ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, in 2010 while starring on the Real Housewives of New York. They then left the show to star on their own Bravo spinoff show, Bethenny Ever After, which was a continuation of their multi-part wedding special, Bethenny Getting Married.
In 2015, Bethenny returned to the Real Housewives of New York for season 7. She went on to star in the series for five seasons before exiting the franchise in 2019.
Fast forward to 2021, when Bethenny launched her failed business-themed reality TV show, The Big Shot With Bethenny Frankel.
Since then Bethenny has moved on to hosting two podcasts including one that is Real Housewives themed. She’s also become infamous on TikTok for her hot take on everything from food, beauty, fashion, pop culture, and more.
On of that, Bethenny launched her reality TV reckoning in 2023 as an effort to create a reality TV union and expose the ugly behind the scenes truth of reality TV, mainly Bravo and Real Housewives.
