RHOSLC star Monica Garcia’s brother-in-law, Jared Taylor, revealed after their sordid “18-month affair” became a hot topic on Bravo and social media!
Monica Garcia didn’t hold back when she joined the season 4 cast of RHOSLC. In fact, the newbie immediately aired out most of her dirty laundry, including her 18-month affair with her brother-in-law.
In an early episode of season 4 of RHOSLC, Monica told co-star Heather Gay that she had an 18-month affair with her now ex-husband’s sister’s husband. Talk about complicated. Their affair scandal ultimately led to Monica’s excommunication from the Morman Church.
Monica said she was “shunned from everyone and literally unwelcome everywhere,” calling the scandal “truly one of the worst experiences of my life.”
However, she also noted that her brother-in-law didn’t receive the same treatment as she did and remained a member of the Morman Church.
Now, The U.S. Sun has identified the RHOSLC star’s brother-in-law as Jared Taylor, a 42-year-old fire chief from Ogden, Utah.
The 42-year-old graduated from Weber State’s Law Enforcement Academy in May 2019 and currently serves as the Division Chief for Weber Fire District. Jared is a Utah native who attended Weber State University, where he received a degree in Business Administration and Management.
Like Monica, Jared has four children.
Monica and Jared’s affair took place from 2010 to 2011.
A source reveals that Jared was “pursuing” Monica, and they “both were unhappy in their marriages.”
“They were in love and even talked future plans,” the source insisted.“Monica always gushed about Jared, but ultimately decided to not keep it a secret and told family and her church.”
“Once the secret was out, her life turned upside down.”
The affair also led to the end of both Monica and Jared’s marriages.
After four years of marriage, Monica filed for divorce from her husband, Mike, in December 2013. However, she and Mike eventually reconciled. In June of 2023, Monica filed for divorce for the second time.
The exes finalized their divorce on October 24.
In the divorce, Monica was awarded sole legal and physical custody of daughters Bri, 18, Jaidyn, 13, West, 7, and Kendall, 6. Mike was also ordered to pay the RHOSLC star $2,636 a month in child support and $4,000 a month in alimony.
As for Jared, his ex-wife filed for divorce in October 2014. Their divorce was finalized in March 2015. Jared went on to marry again, but that union also ended in divorce. His second divorce was completed in late 2022.
