Kelly Dodd is shedding some exclusive light on her attempt to visit Shannon Beador after her arrest for DUI on Saturday. Get all the details.
Real Housewives of Orange County alum Kelly Dodd opened up about Shannon Beador‘s DUI arrest on Tuesday’s episode of her YouTube show “Daily Smash” with her husband, Rick Leventhal.
During the episode, Kelly called out Tamra Judge for being a bad friend to Shannon Beador post-DUI while praising Vicki Gunvalson for her support of Shannon. Kelly, who starred on RHOC until 2020, also revealed that she dropped off food, including stuffed peppers and lasagna, to Shannon Beador’s paparazzi-laden house on Tuesday morning.
Well, it turns out that wasn’t enough for Kelly, who decided to reveal more details about how Shannon Beador is doing following her arrest on her Patreon channel.

“We just wanted to share the latest because, obviously, Kelly has been very close to Shannon, and Kelly had some Shannon experiences over the last few days. We’re not looking to pile on or come after her in any way. We want to give you guys a perspective,” Rick stated at the start of the Patreon episode.
Kelly explained that when she dropped food off at Shannon’s house on Tuesday morning, the Real Housewives of Orange County star’s hairdresser answered the door.
The Bravo alum said she “wanted [Shannon] to have her privacy,” adding that she just “wanted to give the food to her.”
Later that night, Kelly headed out to NoBu with her friend, Asia, who also knows Shannon Beador. Kelly notes that Shannon has been to Asia’s house, and they’ve hung out many times.
On their way to NoBu, which is very close to Shannon’s new house, Asia suggested they stop by Shannon’s place to see how she’s doing.
Kelly wasn’t sure at first. Then Vicki Gunvalson texted her that she was heading to Shannon’s house at six, so Kelly thought Shannon was up for company.
However, when Kelly and Asia arrived at Shannon’s house, they were greeted at the door by Shannon’s on-again, off-again boyfriend, John Janssen.
The 47-year-old explains:
“John Jansen opens up the door, and he’s like, I’m sorry [ you can’t come in]. I’m like, but I get it. She probably didn’t like that Asia was there. She probably was mad that we came in unannounced – I get it.”
According to Kelly, John told her and Asia that Shannon “doesn’t wanna see anybody right now.” She also notes that John was “breaking down and crying” at the door, adding that “it’s been really, really rough.”
Shannon is “pretty beat up” both physically and emotionally.
“I learned that her face is like all screwed up,” Kelly confessed, noting that “the paparazzi are out there trying to get pictures of her.”
Shannon’s face hit the steering wheel during the accident, that led to her arrest for DUI.
“She might have to go to a plastic surgeon,” Kelly said, adding that she also heard that Shannon broke her arm.
Due to the media swarming Shannon’s house, Vicki Gunvalson is “taking her behind the gates of Coto so the paparazzi can’t go over there.”
Rick points out that Shannon’s current house is “very exposed” and is on a “public street.” Plus, “there’s only one way in and out.”
