Find out how Real Housewives of Orange County star Heather Dubrow saved her husband Terry Dubrow’s life after a medical emergency.

Terry Dubrow details how his wife, Heather Dubrow, saved his life after he suffered a mini-stroke during a night out in Beverly Hills.

The Orange County plastic surgeon explains that on August 3, while out to dinner in Beverly Hills with Heather and their oldest son, Nick, he suffered a medical emergency that was caught thanks to his wife.

The Real Housewives of Orange County star noticed that Terry Dubrow was slurring his speech and instructed her son to call 911. Paramedics informed Terry that his vitals were fine, but Heather insisted that Terry go to the hospital for further evaluation. Thankfully, Terry Dubrow listened because, after further testing, doctors confirmed that the Botched star suffered a TIA, which “is a brief blockage of blood flow to part of the brain that can temporarily cause stroke-like symptoms.”

Doctors also discovered that the 64-year-old had a patent foramen ovale, which is a hole in his heart that didn’t close after birth. The TIA was caused by a blood clot that traveled through Terry Dubrow’s heart and into his brain.

Thankfully, Terry was treated and is now fully recovered.

Now, the Botched star is reflecting on his health scare while praising his wife for listening to her instincts.

“I learned many things from this terrifying experience,” Terry told E! News on Aug. 9. “One: If you or anyone around you shows possible signs of a stroke, time is critical; you have five hours to get to a hospital to save your life. Two: If you have traveled recently, make sure you move frequently to keep blood flowing to prevent clots. Three: PFO is more common (20-30%) than people realize, and TIAs and strokes can occur in anyone at any age.”

He added: “Listen to your partner. If they are concerned about something, don’t argue, don’t ignore and get it checked out right away. What they see may be very different than what you perceive. Be grateful for those who love you. I love my wife; thank god for Heather and her persistence and insistence. She truly saved my life.”

After Terry went public with his health scare, Heather shared her feelings on the incident and gushed about her love for Terry on her Instagram.

Heather wrote:

“I love this man with my whole heart. I’m beyond grateful that Terry’s okay. This could have gone very differently. If you see someone having stroke-like symptoms- get them to the Hospital. You have 5 hours to get them treatment. I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to the doctors, nurses, and techs at Hoag Hospital and everyone involved who helped us during this very scary time. Thank you for your kind messages; Terry and I are overwhelmed by your love and support.”

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
