Joining the Real Housewives will cost you your dignity as well as some major coin. Siggy Flicker reveals how much new Housewives get paid.
Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Siggy Flicker is spilling the tea on just how much Housewives make for their first season on the franchise. Turns out Housewives actually lose money during their first season. Shocking.
While appearing on AllAboutTRH’s podcast, Siggy Flicker revealed that most women end up $150,000 in the hole following their first season of Real Housewives.
Siggy explained:
“First season housewives make $60,000 now after taxes. That’s about $30,000 after hair extensions, makeup, a wardrobe, going to parties, and having to be photographed with people that you have to pretend you’re friends with everybody. You’re drained. You are probably losing $150,000 the first year.”
When asked whether or not Housewives are asked or “pressured” to host events and parties, Siggy said, “No, what happens is that we are asked by production to hang out. We have to hang out because, listen, you’re doing a show about 5, 6, 7 women, and all those women really couldn’t give a shit about one another. But you’re doing a show.”
According to Siggy, most of the Housewives “never hand out in real life,” but “they have to hang out once or twice to have dinner.”
Siggy explained that she would get “a phone call from production” asking if she wanted to have dinner with this co-star or that co-star.
“All of a sudden, you make plans, and you have dinner, and you’re photographed, and you know, it’s always to get the fans excited, look at them hanging out, you know? I don’t watch the show, but I know that all the friendships on the show are not of that,” Siggy added.
