Pump Rules alum Jax Taylor is throwing some major shade at his former SUR boss Lisa Vanderpump!
Jax Taylor is calling like he sees it and admits that Lisa’s role on Pump Rules has been obsolete after a decade.
According to Jax, Lisa Vanderpump is nothing more than a “prop” on VPR and brings “brings nothing” to the show at this point in time.
The 43-year-old made this bold statement while appearing on the June 9 episode of Dear Media‘s The Toast.
Host Claudia Oshry asked the Bravolebrity: “What’s the point of Lisa on the show anymore?”
“I think she’s a prop at this point,” Jax admitted. “I don’t mean that in a negative way, but let’s be honest, it wouldn’t change the difference if she wasn’t there. She’s not bringing anything to the show anymore.”
Jax acknowledges that Pump Rules “is [Lisa’s] show,” he quickly notes that the much “older” Pump Rules cast doesn’t need her to be as “involved” in their lives anymore, especially since most don’t work at SUR any longer.
“She brought the show, but I really don’t see a reason for her to be at the reunion. I really don’t. I mean, to sit next to Andy … or do they just smirk back and forth. ‘How’s your restaurant doing?’ Like, I don’t really know if she really needs to be there,” he explained. “[And] everybody seems to be afraid of her… For what? Well, you own a restaurant. You’re a woman who owns restaurants in West Hollywood.”
While Jax is grateful that Lisa cast him on Pump Rules during season one, he insists that he was the one who kept himself employed on the show by creating drama and good storylines.
“She doesn’t own the show. She is a producer,” he said. “So it’s really upsetting when people are like, ‘You should be so grateful she could let you go.’ No, that’s not how it works. She got us the audition, or she got us, you know, the sizzle reel, whatever. She got us in the door. We have to make it work.”
Jax said that for far too long, Lisa’s role on the show was nothing more than her “showing up once every six episodes to hand out fake paychecks. “
“And then watching the reunion, her chiming in, she’s not even there,” he added. “These are adults. When we were younger, and we were 20 years old, yes. It made a little more sense because she was kind of a mother figure, and she was the boss.”
Despite Jax’s criticism of Lisa’s role on Vanderpump Rules, he says they are on good terms.
Jax said, “I saw her at TomTom about two months ago. She’s like, ‘Hey, how, how are you? How this?’ I just think she’s, I don’t want to say too many negative things about Lisa.”
As for rumors that Jax and his wife Brittany Cartwright may be returning to Pump Rules for season 11, Jax teased that the rumors may be true.
“We have been talking,” Jax teased. “We’re trying to figure out what makes sense for my family… [We’re] absolutely excited about the thought of going back, but… have to weigh it out and see if it makes sense.”
Vanderpump Rules will return for season 11 in 2024.
