Lisa Rinna might not want to continue bashing the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills if she has plans to ever return to the show.
During a recent interview with The Evening Standard, Lisa Rinna called the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills “a stupid show.”
The Bravo alum bashed the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills while revealing that she left the show after the fan base became too “volatile” for her to handle.
Lisa Rinna said:
“I think the world itself has gotten so volatile that the response doesn’t match what we’re doing. I didn’t want to live like that. I don’t think that’s healthy. The way the fan base reacts to the show now is not how it was when I first started. I mean, we were getting death threats. Some of the most horrible things I’ve ever seen in print in my life, and it’s a reality show! It’s a stupid show! I thought: ‘It’s time to go.’”
In early January 2023, Lisa Rinna publicly announced that she would not return to RHOBH for season 13 after eight years on the show.
“This is the longest job I have held in my 35-year career, and I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series. It has been a fun eight-year run, and I am excited for what is to come,” Lisa Rinna said in a statement at the time.
The Real Housewives executive producer explains that after the season 12 reunion, Lisa texted him in the middle of the night, announcing that she would be leaving the show.
A few weeks later, Andy’s team told him that Lisa changed her mind and wasn’t planning on quitting the show anymore. However, the decision to move the show forward without Lisa for season 13 was already in place. Bravo decided that they would not scrap their plans and find a way to work Lisa into being a part of the show for season 13.
“I think she immediately, obviously immediately regretted what she had done, and that’s something that’s like if you’re moving that erratically and that sort of moment, you needed to be on pause, fired, quit. Like, whatever word you want to use, that needed to happen. I’m also shocked she didn’t publish the text.”
However, Lisa Rinna’s rep fired back at Andy’s claims while also addressing his comments that her exit from RHOBH is just a “pause.”
In a statement to HollywoodLife, a rep for Lisa Rinna said:
“[Lisa] is not ‘ON PAUSE, ‘ and there was never any discussion with anyone about that concept. Her contract ended, and the parties mutually agreed not to engage on a new one. She felt her time on the show had run its course, and she was more than happy to move on. And she still does not regret it.”
RHOBH recently wrapped filming for season 13. Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Erika Jayne, Sutton Stracke, Garcelle Beauvais, and Crystal Minkoff are all returning. They will be joined by newbie Annemarie Wiley. Kim Richards, Denise Richards, Camille Grammer, and Teddi Mellencamp have all filmed for season 13.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is expected to return for season 13 in late 2023.
