Kaite Maloney and Tom Schwartz’s relationship has seen its share of ups and downs over the years. One of the biggest hurdles the Vanderpump Rules couple faced during their twelve-year relationship and six-year marriage was Schwartz’s relationship with his best friend and business partner, Tom Sandoval.
Katie and Schwartz marriage seemed to always take a back seat to Schwartz’s friendship with Sandoval. More often than not, Schwartz chose his best friend over his wife, which seems to be why Katie and Schwartz’s marriage ultimately fell apart at the start of 2022.
Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules will document Schwartz and Katie’s split and the aftermath.
Schwartz and Sandoval appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Wednesday following the season 10 premiere of Pump Rules.
During the show, Andy asked Sandoval if he feels any responsibility for Schwartz and Kaite’s divorce.
“Do you take some responsibility for the end of Schwartz’s marriage?” Andy asked.
Surprisingly, Sandoval admitted that he did feel some culpability for their split at the beginning.
“I did feel a little bit that way in the moment,” Sandoval confessed, which surprised Andy.
He added: “It hit me very hard. I was surprised by it and very saddened by it.”
Andy then turned to Schwartz and asked: “Do you think he should?”
“No,” Schwartz replied before admitting, “In the beginning, I scapegoated our venture, Schwartz and Sandys, but ultimately it was my fault.”
