Teresa Giudice is defending her former BFF Jacqueline Laurita after the Real Housewives of New Jersey alum came out swinging in a recent interview with AllAboutTRH.
It’s no secret that Teresa and her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga are at odds heading into season 13 of RHONJ, which is set to premiere on Bravo in early February.
Now, Jacqueline has found herself in the middle of Teresa and Melissa’s drama. And oddly enough, Jacqueline is Team Teresa.
During Jacqueline’s interview with AllAboutTRH, she insisted that Melissa never spoke well of Teresa. Jacqueline also revealed that when she and Teresa decided to mend fences during season 7 Melissa became fearful that she would tell Teresa all of the nasty stuff Melissa had said about her over the years. As a result, Melissa went out of her way to cause drama between Jacqueline and Teresa.
“Melissa spoke poorly of Teresa when they appeared to be good, and no, I don’t believe she ever liked Teresa or wanted Teresa and I to be close again. Everyone was just playing the TV game,” Jacqueline revealed.
“When I told Melissa about it, she acted weird and reminded me not to trust it because Teresa really hated me and I needed to remember that. I told her that she was probably right, but I’d rather have her fake it and be fun like that, rather than fighting with me,” she added.
On top of that, Jacqueline recently claimed that Melissa previously said Caroline Manzo was “too old and boring” to be on RHONJ.
“Not true- I love Caroline, always have,” Melissa told Page Six.
Teresa addressed the recent drama between Jacqueline and Melissa on her Namaste B$tches podcast.
While Teresa has “no idea” why Jacqueline is coming out of the woodwork with all this tea all these years later, she notes that her former BFF isn’t “thirsty” so she’s not doing it for the attention.
“She’s not like that,” she quipped before noting that she wishes Jacqueline “nothing but the best.”
Teresa also admitted that she was “devastated” by their friendship fallout and called it a “friends divorce.”
“I really was sad for a while,” she said. “Joe [Giudice] could tell you.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey returns to Bravo for season 13 on February 7 at 9 p.m. EST.
