Real Husbands: The Untold Story

If you’ve ever wondered why there isn’t a ‘Real Husband’ reality show – Andy Cohen has the answers. It’s no secret that, at times, the husbands of the Real Housewives make the show. Am I right?! Over the years, we’ve had Housewives’ husbands that have stolen the show on more than one occasion, so much so that they quickly turn into fan favorites. Fans grew to love Don Gunvalson from the Real Housewives of Orange County. The same can be said for Mauricio Umansky and Ken Todd on RHOBH.  After Mo and Ken’s friendship fell apart, fans loved seeing Maurico’s stoned gossip sessions with his new BFF PK Kemsley air on the show. In recent years, fans fell head over heels for the bromance between the husbands on the Real Housewives of New Jersey. These guys have stolen the hearts of Bravo fans, so much so that, at times, we’d rather see their antics than the drama between the women. The bond between the guys on Jersey is so similar to the friendships that formed between Apollo Nida, Gregg Leakes, and Peter Thomas on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Todd Tucker also became a fan-favorite husband when he started seeing his now-wife, Kandi Burruss, on the show. Over the years, many fans have wondered: Why isn’t there a ‘Real Husbands’ show on Bravo? Well, not too long ago, Andy answered that very question. “We did think of doing a house-husbands show!” Andy said in a clip shared on the @bravowwhl Instagram page. “We developed, early on, we developed a show called The Real Husbands of Orange County, and we cast a bunch of husbands, and the truth is, guys are kinda boring,” Andy admitted before adding, “No offense.” Andy said that in the end, production decided, “you know what? We’re not doing this.”
