Bethenny Frankel is giving some insight into Kathy Hilton and Kyle Richards’ longtime feud.

On a recent episode of her ReWives podcast, the Real Housewives of New York alum shed some light on the history of Kathy and Kyle’s relationship.

The Skinnygirl mogul is a longtime friend of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG. She also used to work as a nanny for Kathy’s daughters, Paris and Nicky Hilton, which gives her a unique perspective on the sister’s rocky relationship.

According to Bethenny, Kathy is the sister who originally “made good” when she “married a Hilton” in 1979 at the age of 20.

At the time, the move was a big get for the Richards family and made Kathy the top dog of the family due to her raised social status.

“Kathy was in charge,” Bethenny says, adding that Kyle was “still finding her way” as Kathy’s social status grew and grew.

So, since Kathy spent almost all of her adult life as the queen bee of the Richards family, she naturally didn’t like the shift when Kyle went out and became successful on her own, i.e. joined RHOBH and opened The Agency with her husband, Mauricio Umansky.

The shift in dynamics “upset the apple cart,” according to Bethenny.

Bethenny alleged that when Kyle began to make “her own decisions” and started living her “own life,” the move “shook it all up between the families.”

“I know a lot of secrets,” she added before insisting she would be keeping them under lock and key.

When it comes to RHOBH, Bethenny alleges that the dynamics between Kathy and Kyle would have been very different if they had joined the show together during season one. Bethenny says that if Kathy had joined RHOBH during season one with Kyle and their sister, Kim Richards, she would have taken on the role of the “boss.”

Yet, since Kathy didn’t join the show until season 11, there’s “a little bit of deference,” which the former reality TV star claims will “always” be present.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is expected to return for season 13 in 2023.
