Jeff Lewis thinks Bravo and Andy Cohen need to do a better job at doing background checks on the Real Housewives before they join their respective franchises.
On the December 7 episode of Watch What Happens Live, the former Bravoleb gave Andy some sage casting advice that the Big Daddy of Bravo didn’t seem too eager to hear.
“My suggestion to you is after all of these years of doing this; you still don’t do any background checks on some of these Housewives. Like it’s information that we find out later,” Jeff explained.
“[But] that’s what makes the world go ‘round on that situation,” fellow WWHL guest Bethenny Frankel noted, adding that Bravo probably likes that some of the Housewives wind up having scandals and/or legal troubles because it makes for good TV and increases ratings.
While Jeff acknowledges that is probably the case, he still believes that the network could use a better vetting process. He points out that he never had any kind of legal woes on his former Bravo show, Flipping Out.
“My show was very different. I never had to worry about anything like that. I trusted the people that worked with me, and no one ever screwed me over,” he said before shading his former co-star Jenni Pulos.
“Except for Jenni,” he quipped.
“Well, she would probably say you screwed her over,” Andy fired back.
