Leah McSweeney recently turned heads when she referred to herself as a “former” Housewife on TikTok.
Now the Real Housewives of New York star is now clarifying her comment while making it known she hasn’t given up her apple just yet.
“OK, I was not trying to cause a commotion … I wasn’t trying to make some major announcement saying I’m a ‘former “Housewife” of New York,’” Leah said on Instagram. “The show hasn’t been on, or it hasn’t filmed in a year and a half. So why would I call myself a ‘Housewife?’ Just saying ‘former,’ it’s not a big deal.”
She continued, “I’m on the ‘Ultimate Girls Trip’ [Season 3], and I’ll be at BravoCon, and I can’t wait to see everybody there.”.
Back in May, Leah revealed that she assumes she’s “not coming back” to the Real Housewives of New York for the upcoming reboot.
“I think I’m not coming back,” she admitted on the “We Should Talk” podcast with Gibson Johns. “It’s just the better way to think about it. I mean, look, I have to see if they offer me to go back, I have to wait to see who’s on it and which show it is, and whatever … you know I can’t think the what if.”
“I would be like bummed, just because [my] second [season] was just not fun, you know what I mean. I mean, maybe the show’s not supposed to be fun, though, I don’t know,” Leah continued. “I wanna have fun on my last season, but yeah, I just think, OK, I’m not going back.”
In March, Bravo announced they were rebooting the New York Housewives franchise and pressing pause on season 14 for 2022. Bravo noted they are “searching for a diverse group of friends who best reflect one of the most multicultural cities in America.”
