Teresa Giudice is starting the next chapter of her life with a bang.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey OG and newlywed has joined the season 31 cast of Dancing With the Stars just a month after marrying husband Louie Ruelas. Teresa has spent the last month jet-setting around Europe.

The Bravo star will be partnering with Pasha Pashkov.

On Thursday, September 7, it was announced that Teresa would be joining the dancing competition along with Selma Blair, Wayne Brady,  Joseph Baena, Vinny Guadagnino, Jessie James Decker, Gabby Windey, Daniel Duran, Jordan Sparks, Trevor Donovan, Jason Lewis, Cheryl Ladd, Sam Champion, Shangela, Charli D’Amelio, and her mom, Heidi D’Amelio.

Tyra Banks and Alfonso Ribeiro will host.

After it was announced that Teresa would be joining DWTS, she chatted with Page Six via Skype, where she revealed that she finally said “yes” to joining the dancing competition thanks to her good friend and fellow Housewife Kenya Moore.

“We just did the ‘Ultimate Girls Trip’ together, and that’s my girl! We have never worked together before, and then she, like, stuck up for me against Ramona [Singer],” Teresa explained of how her friendship with Kenya bloomed into its current state. “I was like, ‘Wow! Like, I love that!’ So, she’s my girl for life.”

When Teresa was approached to do DWTS, she knew Kenya would be the best person to discuss the opportunity with since she’s previously appeared on the show. Erika Jayne, NeNe Leakes, Lisa Rinna, and Lisa Vanderpump have also appeared on DWTS.

“We have good energy together, so I called her,” Teresa said. “I was like, ‘I’ve been asked to be on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’ what do you think? Should I do it?’ And she’s like, ‘Definitely; you should do it; you’re going to love it.’”

“She’s like, ‘You’re in good shape; you’re going to get into even better shape.’ I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I love that. That’s music to my ears.’”

Kenya also warned that the show is “a lot of work.”

“She’s like, ‘Get ready,’” Teresa admitted. “But I’m a hard worker, so … I’m ready to put in all the hard work that I need to.”

The long-time reality TV star explains that in 2016 she turned down an opportunity to compete on DWTS. Teresa explains the offer came in right after she was released from prison. At the time, she didn’t want to be away from her kids or discuss her time in prison.

“It’s better now because – I hate to say the word, prison – but I got asked to be on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ as soon as I came home. And I remember I was struggling with it,” she admitted. “The kids were still young, and I just got home, and I didn’t want to leave them … I was very torn. But then I couldn’t do it anyway because I had to be on Bravo first [for ‘RHONJ’].”

Now, Teresa feels her casting on DWTS was “meant to be.”

“It’s been a dream come true because I’ve been watching ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ I mean, forever. I watched it when my dad was living with me, with my dad. And today’s my dad’s birthday,” she shared. “So it really was meant to be. So, yeah, he’s looking down on me, and I know he’s really proud.”

RHONJ will return for season 13 in early 2023.
