Kelly Dodd isn’t buying Jennifer Armstrong’s separation from her husband, Ryne Holliday.
Last week the plastic surgeon turned Real Housewives of Orange County star filed for legal separation from her husband after eight years of marriage.
In the court filing, Jen cited “irreconcilable differences” and listed her and Ryne’s separation date as September 8, 2021. She also requested legal and physical custody of their three kids.
However, Kelly seems to believe that Jen only filed for legal separation in hopes that it will score her a spot in the season 17 cast of RHOC.
“Doesn’t mean they filed for divorce….just want another season,” Kelly commented on the Bravo Housewives Instagram page.
The idea is that Jen’s separation storyline would entice Bravo to keep her around for another season.
Despite Kelly’s claims, a source tells Page Six that there’s “no specific catalyst for the filing.”
“After their first trial separation in September [2021], Jen and Ryne were still in limbo, and Jen felt like she needed to take this step to improve their family dynamic,” the insider explained. “The issues they’ve been having are the same issues that played out on the show. But all is amicable, and they are committed to keeping their kids stable and happy.”
Meanwhile, Jen and Ryne were recently spotted in Newport Beach having a heated conversation.
The exes seemed to be having a tense moment with Jen gesturing to get her point across. Neither cracked a smile during the outing.

RHOC is set to return for season 17 in late 2022 or early 2023.
