Randall Emmett Breaks His Silence on Lala Kent Split; Says His Priority Is Being a ‘Single Dad’

Randall Emmett breaks his silence on his split from Lala Kent for the first time but if you’re expecting a bash session – think again.

“She’s the mother of my child. No matter what happens in life, I will never disparage or talk ill about her because she’s Ocean’s mom,” Randall said on the March 23rd episode of GG Gharachedaghi’s “Genuinely GG” podcast.

He added that co-parenting is his number one priority, saying, “I have two other kids, and I co-parent with Ambyr, and in that world, I never said one negative thing and vice versa. At the end of the day, I am not that comfortable in this whole thing, but the truth is that I just have to always look at the big picture.”

While Lala and Randall aren’t on good terms, the movie producer says the “most important thing” to both him and Lala is their daughter, Ocean, who just turned one.

“When I think about all the chaos, I just try to think, you know, we have this beautiful girl, and she wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for us,” he said. “That is worth all of the turmoil and the heartbreak and the pain that has gone on. I’m not saying that I’m happy about any of it. I’m not. I’m sad, but at the same time, I have Ocean, she has Ocean, and I think we both would say that we have her out of this, and how can we not be grateful?”

Ocean turned one earlier this month, but the former couple did not celebrate their daughter’s milestone birthday today.

Randall explains this decision, saying, “We are not at that place. By the way, I could be at that place, but I have to let Lala make that call. I am optimistic that one day we will be at that place, and she will be open to that. I respect however she wants this to be.”

Randall insists that he’s not dating anyone “exclusively” and that his priority is being a “single dad.”

As for Lala’s claims that Randall cheated throughout their relationship, the filmmaker says he’s choosing not to address those accusations publicly.

“I am never going to comment on any of that stuff. I just feel like what I am going through and what I have gone through — my mistakes and my accountability. She also has a side to it which I will never go into, but we have Ocean,” he said. “I just can’t talk badly about the mother of my child. I just can’t do it. No matter what is said about me.”

“I’ve made mistakes, she’s made mistakes, but I’m never going to bring that to light because that’s just not right,” he added. “I can’t tell her what to do. She’s a strong woman, and I just hope that in time that kind of all mellows out.”

Randall says it’s not “appropriate” to publicly discuss his private matters with Lala in a public space, pointing out that no one knows what goes on behind closed doors.

“I am working to provide for my family and my children every day. At the end of the day, I just try to keep my head up and hope that eventually that stuff subsides and people move on to something else,” Randall explained.

He added: “There’s always two sides to every story. But I am just not going to ever take that to the public. I can’t get involved in that — it is never going to be who I am.”

Randall is worried about the effect Lala’s claims will have on his children, noting that he’s worried his 12-year-old daughter could see these hateful comments about him online.

It’s unclear if Bravo will renew Vanderpump Rules for season 10.
