Joe Gorga isn’t sorry for having “tough conversations” with his niece Gia Giudice about her dad, Joe Giudice.
The house-husband opened up about the drama with his niece while appearing Wednesday’s Watch What Happens Live episode alongside his wife, Melissa Gorga.
On a recent episode of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, Gia and Joe went at it over comments her uncle made about her dad in the press.
Gia called her uncle “disrespectful” for claiming her father didn’t know how to be a “man.” She also took issue with her uncle blaming her dad for the death of his mother.
Andy Cohen asked Joe about this all during Wednesday’s episode of WWHL.
“It’s one of those things where you’re watching at home, and you’re both right,” Andy noted. “You can understand she doesn’t want to hear it anymore about her dad, and you’re in this position of trying to stand up for your family.”
Joe claims he “never really speak[s] about Joe Giudice ever” and insists that Giudice is the one that can’t stop talking about him and Melissa in the press.
“I wonder if they [Joe Giudice’s daughters] ever yell at him for anything,” Joe quipped. “If you go out and look, there’s 11 articles [Giudice has spoken to]. I’ve never said anything.”
He adds that before his blowout with Gia, his sister Teresa Giudice had been venting to him about her ex-husband.
“Before that day, my sister’s telling me they’re going through a divorce, and she’s telling me all these things that he was saying to her,” Joe said. “So I’m sitting there, and I’m thinking about all this, and then we had that episode a couple [of] days later, so I explode, and it’s my sister — I’m trying to protect her.”
Meanwhile, Joe and Melissa also revealed that their daughter Antonia’s relationship with her cousins had been strained amid Joe’s drama with his nieces Gia and Milania.
