It’s no secret that the Real Housewives of New York won’t be returning to Bravo anytime in 2022; however, that doesn’t mean the network isn’t working hard behind the scenes to revamp the once uber-successful Real Housewives franchise.
A new report from Deux Moi reveals that Bravo is has asked 3 cast members to return for season 14.
“Bravo [has] asked 3 cast members to return/their thoughts on returning for Real Housewives Of New York Season 14. One has pretty much signed on, and another has been desperate to return for years and it’s looking like this could be her year. As for number 3, I’m sure you can guess her answer…” one source revealed.
A second source then backed up the claims and gave some hints about who those three Housewives could be and some other casting options Bravo is looking into for season 14.
“Confirming your RHONY casting reports. Three Housewives are coming back, two returning wives (Hilli) will be back fresh off of their peacock show, and 2-3 newbies. Since “Sex and the City’ is so big right now, the plan is to lean into that by finally bringing Candace Bushnell on board (potentially even Crystal McCrary McGuire, who LTW in the reboot is based on),” a second source explained.
This has me thinking that Jill Zarin and Dorinda Medley could be returning as season 2 of Peacock RHUGT is set to air in the spring. It could also mean that Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer are returning, but that doesn’t really fit the clues given above.
In November 2021, RHONY Executive Producer Andy Cohen confirmed that Bravo has put RHONY “on pause” for the moment.
“We are kind of on pause at this moment. We have a lot of casting happening, and we are looking at every option,” Andy explained while appearing on The Wendy Williams Show. “We are working on it. I love New York, you love New York, we all love New York.”
