Carole Radzwill thinks Bravo completely missed the mark by casting Eboni K. Williams for season 13 of the Real Housewives of New York.
The former NY Housewife weighed in on Eboni’s casting on the Behind the Velvet Rope With David Yontef podcast.
“She’s very intelligent from what I saw and very willing to go to the mat on subjects that I tried to a little bit in the way that I could, but she was fierce, and I kind of liked that, but it was just like, this is totally wrong show,” Carole said of Eboni.
She added, “It just felt like she was completely miscast in that. She would be great on The View and some of those political adjacent shows.”
When it comes to Bravo’s plans to revamp RHONY for season 14, Carole has one suggestion for the network – keep Ramona Singer.
Despite Ramona’s notorious bad behavior and allegations, she made a “racially motivated” comment, Carole thinks Ramona is the backbone of the franchise.
“[Ramona isn’t] afraid to make herself look… crazy. She’s the workhorse. She [is] engaging with all the women in the way that she [tries] to connect all the fights and make drama and stuff,” Carole noted. “And a lot of it did not make her look good. But in that way, she was really carrying that show.”
The Singer Stinger was cleared of any wrongdoing following a third-party investigation; however, Eboni and an unnamed crewmember stand by their complaints against Ramona.
It was reported that Ramona said, “This is why we shouldn’t have black people on the show,” about Eboni being kicked out of Luann de Lesseps’ home.
Ramona denied the claim, saying, “I never said that. It’s a terrible lie. It’s very disappointing that even after my name was cleared that people still want to slander me.”
As a result of this drama, Bravo has put RHONY on pause as they work to revamp and revive the franchise. Rumor has it RHONY won’t be returning until 2023.
