Kenya Moore reveals that she supports NeNe Leakes returning to the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
In a new interview with Page Six, Kenya admits she’d give NeNe back her peach if she could. This is something I NEVER thought I’d hear Kenya say especially because without NeNe around she’s basically Queen Bee on the show.
“I do think that she has a very interesting story to tell now, especially with the unfortunate passing of her husband [Gregg Leakes],” Kenya told Page Six. “If it were up to her fans, they would say, ‘Absolutely yes, bring her back.’ She was a viable cast member for many, many years. [She’s] one of the OGs and you can’t take that away from the franchise.”
She explained that she and NeNe are in an okay place which is a move in the right direction considering their rocky past.
“I think that we’re in a decent place,” Kenya noted. “I did go to Gregg’s repast and I did think that we had gotten to a place where we felt better about each other and the relationship.”
“I don’t know if that is NeNe’s decision at this point. I think it’s really kind of up to the network,” she added. “But I don’t think she’s referencing me when she’s talking about ‘unfinished business’ because we’re in a good place.”
As for season 14 of RHOA, Kenya opened up about newbie and former Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross. She also teased that a “few more” newbies could be added into the mix as filming moves forward.
“The dynamics have changed because personalities change, ladies change, the season changes from year to year. We have a new ‘Housewife,’” she said. “The other ladies are definitely interesting. They’re bringing something different this season and I think that’s what the viewers really wanted, is to see something different from ‘RHOA’ and I think they’re going to get it. I’m excited about the new potential of this cast.”
This all comes after NeNe recently revealed that she’d be interested in returning to RHOA.
“Yeah, sure, I’ll return to the show,” NeNe told “The Real” co-hosts Loni Love and Garcelle Beauvais on the November 4 episode. “I’m OK with returning to the show as long as we can work through a few things.”
She added, “I’m happy to return to the show. And besides, I have a lot of unfinished business with a couple of them that they confirmed on the show [during Season 13].”
However, NeNe noted that before her return can happen she would need to have a sit down with RHOA executive producer Andy Cohen.
“I think Andy and I were really close for a really, really long time, and I love Benny boo, [Cohen’s son], and I helped pay for his baby shower and all those things,” she said. “I think that Andy and I need to have a sit-down and talk, and then we’re off to the races.”
Season 14 of RHOA will likely premiere on Bravo in early Spring 2022.
