RHOP Reunion: Candiace Dillard Tells Mia Thornton To Be ‘Grateful’ For Her Insults & Takes Zero Accountability For Her Actions

I try my best not to be biased when I am recapping an episode but I can’t hold this one in. I’m hoping Andy Cohen listens to viewers and fires the Real Housewives of Potomac mean girl, Candiace Dillard. Tonight’s reunion didn’t disappoint except for any scenes that involved Candiace. But before we get to that – let’s start from the beginning where Andy confronts Gizelle Bryant about everything especially when it comes to her style. I don’t care for how Gizelle dresses but I am starting to feel bad that she keeps getting called out on it. She acts like she doesnt care about the insults but you could tell it’s hurtful and I’m over hearing about it. Andy brings up her relationship with Jamal and tries everything in his body to get Gizelle to admit she was hurt when he cheated on her again. Gizelle said when it happens again – it doesn’t hurt like it does the first time. Everyone thinks Gizelle is full of it (especially Wendy) but Robyn has Gizelle’s back and says that just because she doesnt react how the ladies want her to doesnt mean that she’s not upset. Gizelle didn’t have quick responses like she usually does. She remained calm but you can tell she was bothered by everything that was coming at her.

On to Candiace’s low budget music video. Andy shows a scene of Dorothy gossiping about Candiace’s husband Chris to all the ladies and Gizelle asks why Candiace is upset with all the ladies but not her mom. Candiace says she did have a talk with her mother and Andy then asks how Chris responded to everything Dorothy said, “He’s really hurt. And as a wife – I don’t ever want to see my husband hurt, but especially not by my mom. It’s really hard, like, I cussed my mom out in a way that I shouldn’t have.” Robyn chimes in asking, “Do you think your issues would be the same if you weren’t on the show?” Candiace replies, “No. I feel like my family is never going to be the same. My in-laws watch the show and I’m going to be with my family and I feel like I don’t belong there because my mom insulted my husband. I don’t know what to do, like, I don’t know how to fix it.” I’m shook that Candiace behaves the way she does knowing her in-laws watch the show. This should be the least of her worries.

Candiace then lies and says she spoke poorly of Mia’s mother not knowing the backstory saying, “If I knew that she had the trauma that she had, I would not have said that, I would have talked about something else. What I will say is, in the Black community, it’s referred to as ‘joning.’ I was going light on you. And what happened was you were ungrateful.” Zero accountability. Andy doesn’t hold back throughout the reunion asking Candiace, “How is the way that you respond to people working for you? You almost were physically attacked last year.” Candiace continues to take no accountability saying, “So that’s my fault that I was physically attacked?” Andy tells her that she is the common denominator in which she says that is false adding, “everyone up here has a mouth, has said nasty disrespectful things to one another.” Just because someone has said mean things doesn’t give Candiace a pass to be a vile human? Andy then asks why he wakes up to tweets from people telling him to fire Candiace. Candiace says she doesn’t start anything and is always the one responding. Ugh. Candiace then says she has a big issue with Mia saying that she would have a problem with Candiace if her mother relapsed saying Mia is the one who brought her on the show for a storyline. It’s rich coming from Candiace who’s biggest storyline has been her mother. The hypocrisy is unbelievable when it comes to Candiace. Candiace even makes a dig yet again at Ashley’s appearance but this time regarding her forehead. It’s clear she is extremely jealous of Ashley.

Thoughts on part one of the Real Housewives of Potomac reunion? Who’s side are you on? Did you feel bad for Gizelle?
