Cynthia Bailey is leaving the Real Housewives of Atlanta!
On Monday, Cynthia announced that she is exiting the ATL Housewives franchise after eleven seasons.
“After much thought and consideration, I have made the very difficult and heartfelt decision not to return for the next season of Real Housewives of Atlanta. Thank you, NBC Universal, Bravo, and Truly Original, for over a decade of partnership. I can’t wait to see what we do next!” Cynthia wrote in a statement on Instagram.
“Thank you to my Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates for eleven of the most unbelievable years of my life and the most incredible & UNFORGETTABLE memories!” she continued. “I am so grateful to have had this amazing journey, and I am anxiously waiting to embark on new adventures. Most importantly, THANK YOU to my fans! I could not have done it without your blessings, love, and support. Without the fans, none of this would be possible. I love and appreciate all of you. It’s time to move on to my next chapter, and I look forward to sharing it with all of you.”
This news confirms a recent report which claimed that Cynthia and costar Porsha Williams would not be returning for season 14 of RHOA.
Current Housewives Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, and Drew Sidora will return as full-time housewives for season 14. Former friend turned full-time Housewife Marlo Hampton will also join the mix, as will returning OG Housewife Sheree Whitfield.
Olympic gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross is reportedly joining the cast as well. loveBscott reports that Sanya is prepping to film with the RHOA cast, but it’s unclear whether or not she’ll become an actual ‘Housewife’ or just an official friend of the show. This all depends on how well she performs and if she brings the drama. Production has every intention of offering Sanya a peach if she does well.
Filming for season 14 is scheduled to begin sometime in October, and the season will likely premiere on Bravo in early Spring 2022.
