Sutton Stracke agrees with fans who claim that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast is protecting Erika Jayne amid her legal drama with estranged husband Tom Girardi.
In a new interview with In The Know, Sutton dishes on the RHOBH cast’s relationship with Erika. She also reveals why she’s asking the tough questions that no one else seems to want to address.
“I think you can see it,” Sutton said of the Beverly Hills Housewives protecting Erika. “But I also think that they have a very special bond because they’ve known each other a long time. So, there was an instant protective glue with those girls, which I completely understand. [Garcelle Beauvais] and I — and Crystal — we don’t know Erika in the way that those girls do.”
She added, “So, I get it. It’s just not my perspective. I think that’s the biggest difference.”
Sutton admitted she began asking the tough questions about Erika’s possible involvement in Tom’s alleged embezzlement crimes during the cast’s trip to La Quinta, which is when the damning L.A. Times article was published. The article detailed how Tom allegedly stole millions from his former clients including widows, orphans, burn victims, cancer victims, and more to fund his lavish lifestyle.
“That weekend in La Quinta really did a 180. It just went [left] in an instant. It’s interesting that that can happen in life, and it can happen in friendships,” she explained.
As fans saw on last Wednesday’s episode of RHOBH, Sutton wondered if “Erika is being honest with us” about her involvement in Tom’s crimes.
Sutton also wondered if the ladies should distance themselves from Erika. She said that Erika is putting all the women “in a bad position” and confessed she wasn’t sure she believed Erika’s tales of innocence, which she noted, “don’t add up.”
“I am not sure how much I want to be around my friend during this time,” Sutton admitted.
