Yikes, another Real Housewives marriage is OVER.
Real Housewives of Orange County newbie Noella Bergener has filed for separation from her husband James Berger! This comes days after James filed for divorce in Puerto Rico.
According to TMZ, Noella was “blindsided” by the filing. The outlet also reports that James isn’t currently living in the couple’s Orange County home.
Now Noella is firing back at James’ divorce paperwork with a filing of her own.
According to Radar Online, the RHOC newbie filed a petition of separation in an Orange County court on August 2. Their date of marriage is listed as June 28, 2020, but Noella left their date of separation as “to be determined.”
In court documents, Noella states that she and James only have one child a 2-year-old son named James, and cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
She is demanding the court award her primary legal and physical custody of their son and is asking for James to only have visitation.
Noella is requesting that her estranged husband pay her monthly spousal support and wants the court to terminate James’ ability to request any support from her.
Per court document: “To the exact nature of the separate property asset and debts are unknown to the Petitioner at this time. Petitioner reserves the right to amend her petition once it is discovered.”
She also wants James to pay her legal fees in the case.
As we previously reported James, who is a personal injury lawyer who runs a successful law firm named Sweet James in Orange County, owes $5.8 million in back taxes to the state of California and the Internal Revenue Service.
Noella confirmed the news to AllAboutTRH in an exclusive statement and admitted her marriage was struggling as a result.
“I was just as shocked and disgusted to find out a week before filming…and not from husband. My marriage has been a fight every day since. I am being very open about my journey and looking at every option to settle my husband’s debts. Stay tuned and please keep me in your prayers during this difficult time for me and my young family,” she wrote on AllAboutTRH‘s Instagram page.
RHOC is expected to return for season 16 in late 2021 or early 2022.
