It’s no secret that the newest OC Housewife is facing some very public financial drama but it turns out there’s much more to the story than we initially thought!
As we previously reported, Real Housewives of Orange County newbie Noella Berger’s husband, James Bergener, owes a whole lot of money in back taxes. James is a personal injury lawyer who runs a successful law firm named Sweet James in Orange County.
According to Radar Online, James owes millions, specifically $5.7 million, in back taxes to the state of California and the Internal Revenue Service.
Well, now Noella is opening up about the situation and reveals she only found out about her husband’s financial woes a week before filming for season 16 began. To make matters worse, she didn’t find out about it from her husband!
After posting all about James’ massive tax debt on our Instagram account, Noella commented and confirmed the news. She also revealed that her marriage is struggling and that fans will see it all play out during season 16.

“I was just as shocked and disgusted to find out a week before filming…and not from husband,” the RHOC newbie shared in a comment on AllAboutTRH‘s Instagram.
She continued, “My marriage has been a fight every day since. I am being very open about my journey and looking at every option to settle my husband’s debts.”
“Stay tuned and please keep me in your prayers during this difficult time for me and my young family,” she added.
RHOC is expected to return for season 16 in late 2021 or early 2022.
