Not guilty!

Heather Dubrow isn’t to blame for Kelly Dodd being fired from the Real Housewives of Orange County.

In a new interview with E!’s Daily Pop, Heather denied allegations she asked Bravo to fire Kelly, saying any RHOC fan who thinks she orchestrated Kelly’s firing is “misguided.”

The reality star is returning for season 16 of the franchise and decided it was time to address rumors she only returned to in exchange for Bravo firing Kelly.

“I think you would know that anyone that thinks they have that kind of power on a show like this is really very misguided,” Heather said.

She added, “Having said that, when I left the show, I felt like the culture of the show was changing, and it wasn’t really in line with who I am or something that I felt comfortable in.”

Kelly and Heather previously butted heads during their time on RHOC together, which is why when producers reached out to her in late 2020 about returning to the show, she initially laughed off the idea.

She explained that she wanted to make sure that the show would be moving forward and that her return to the franchise would be “helpful, not harmful” for her and her family.

“I definitely wanted to make sure that the show was going to be moving into a direction … because they said they wanted to reboot it,” she said. “That’s no secret. So I wanted to make sure that it was moving in a direction that I could thrive in, that would be successful and would be beneficial to my family.”

Heather will join returning Housewives Shannon Beador, Gina Kirschenheiter, and Emily Simpson for season 16. The franchise had a major shakeup ahead of season 16, with the network firing Kelly, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas.

When asked whether fans will see any other former OC Housewives like Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson on season 16, Heather said it would “be really fun to bring back what a lot of people consider the golden years of the show.”

She added, “And so I think what the audience wants is the fun. Drama always happens, but back in the day, it was drama like she broke the bow off my cake or something silly.”

RHOC is expected to return for season 16 in late 2021 or early 2022.
