Ramona Singer may be on Bravo’s chopping block for season 14 of the Real Housewives of New York, but she’s got support from at least one of her fellow Housewives.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna is campaigning to save Ramona from being fired amid gossip that Bravo is planning to kick her to the curb after a disastrous season of RHONY.
Rinna believes that Ramona should be “protected at all costs” after 13 years on the show. The actress turned reality star took her cast to Instagram, where she showed her support for Ramona.
She shared a photo of Ramona partying on a yacht on her Instagram Story. Alongside the photo, she dubbed Ramona a “national treasure” before noting that she “should be protected at all costs.”
The RHONY OG appreciated the public support as she reposted Rinna’s Instagram Story, writing, “Thank you @lisarinna.”
Ramona has appeared on RHONY since the franchises’ inception in 2008. According to Radar Online, that is one of the main reasons producers and Bravo want to get rid of Ramona.
Sources claim Ramona is getting “too expensive,” which is another reason they want to get rid of her.
As we previously reported, Ramona recently backed out of the season 13 reunion after learning about the news. Insiders say she’s sick of the race talk and refuses to allow herself to be scrutinized at the reunion if she’s not being asked back for another season.
Ramona’s decision to boycott the reunion forced Bravo to push back the scheduled taping and has Andy Cohen “freaking out.”
Bravo is now thinking of taking legal action against Ramona for breach of contract; however, she isn’t willing to go through the emotional reunion if she’s being axed. The network is postponing the reunion for now. A new filming date has yet to be set.
The Real Housewives of New York City airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
