Andy Cohen Reveals How Hosting the KUWTK Reunion Differed From the Real Housewives Reunions

Andy Cohen is the Big Daddy of Bravo and the ultimate Real Housewives reunion host; however, that doesn’t mean he found it easy to host the recent two-part Keeping Up With the Kardashian reunion.

The Watch What Happens Live host admits that he had to adjust to the famous family’s busy schedule to film the KUWTK sit down and deal with not having as much control as he does at the Real Housewives reunions.

“I am not an executive producer on this show. I was hosting it, and I was working on the script, and I was working on what I was going to ask them, but, you know, they have editorial control,” he told Heather Dubrow on her PodcastOne show, Heather Dubrow’s World. “So, it is so different than what you and I are used to.”

Andy says he also had to adjust to a very different filming schedule than the Real Housewives reunions. He is used to starting reunions early in the morning; however, the Kardashian clan didn’t want to start taping until noon.

“Like an hour into it, one of them had to go the bathroom, another wanted a touch-up, and then you know how then it’s a domino effect where everyone in the room is like, ‘Well, I have to go the bathroom!’ or ‘I want some water’ or whatever,” Andy continued. “And then they all started getting up. I go, ‘Where are you going?’ And I think Kris was like, ‘We’re going to the bathroom.’ And I said, ‘Make it quick.’”

He also laughed, thinking back at Kris Jenner shooting him look in response to one of his remarks.

“I’m so used to our dynamic [on ‘Housewives’] where I’m a little more in charge of the situation … and I said, ‘I’m so sorry. I’m used to a different dynamic,’” he said. “I go, ‘You take as long as you want. This is your house. You don’t even have to come back!’”

Andy revealed that he was the one who pitched the Kardashians the idea of doing a reunion after they filmed an episode of his E! series For Real: The Story of Reality TV.

He noted that Khloe Kardashian was the first Kar-Jenner to agree to the special while Kim Kardashian wanted to be “asked the s–t that nobody’s asked us before.”
