Things aren’t peachy for NeNe Leakes and her husband, Gregg Leakes.
Earlier this week, the former Real Housewives of Atlanta star revealed that her husband Gregg’s cancer has returned.
Gregg was previously diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. The 66-year-old is currently back in the hospital after undergoing surgery.
“He’s been in the hospital for a week tomorrow,” NeNe told The Jasmine Brand during an Instagram Live. “I’m sure he’ll be home in about a week or so. He had to have a surgery.”
“It’s difficult,” she said before adding that Gregg was “different.”
“He’s super small,” she said. “If you’ve ever been around somebody who’s had cancer before, he’s different. He’s different.”
Fans saw the effect Gregg’s cancer took him as well as his marriage to NeNe during season 11 of RHOA.
After breaking the news of Gregg’s relapse, NeNe thanked fans, friends, and family for their messages of support.
“I was really caught off guard in that interview when asked about Gregg,” she explained. “He’s a private person, so I hadn’t said anything publicly (his wishes) (Only our circle really know details), and really sometimes it’s best that way because people just read into it whatever they want too and family.”
She continued, “Gregg told me this morning he had 80 text messages and wanted to know what was wrong [with] his phone. Thank you for your many prayers, text messages, and calls. Gregg says to me…keep smiling.”
