Single and ready to mingle!
Gizelle Bryant confirms that she and her ex-husband Jamal Bryant have split!
“There’s an update, there’s a plot twist,” the Real Housewives of Potomac star revealed on The Breakfast Club. “We were working on us getting back together and being back together, but he lives in Atlanta, and I live In Maryland and with the pandemic, we realize it’s just not the right time. It’s just not going to work.”
“Right now, I am footloose and fancy-free. I am single. I am enjoying my hot girl summer, spring, winter, and fall,” she insists.
She also maintains that the two are still close and remain friends.
“Jamal will always be in my life,” she said. “He’s the father to all of my kids. We’ve been together and in each other’s lives for 25 years. He is one of my best friends and I to him. I don’t know anyone more than I know a Jamal Bryant.”
This split is no surprise to RHOP fans, as Jamal and Gizelle were accused of faking their rekindled romance for the cameras.
During their relationship reprieve, Jamal was accused of being unfaithful to Gizelle. On top of that, Gizelle’s family was not supportive of her reconciliation with Jamal as he cheated during their marriage and fathered children with other women.
Jamal and Gizelle got back together ahead of season 5 of RHOP after over a decade of being divorced. The former couple’s teenage daughters struggled with their reconciliation as they were toddlers when their parents first split.
Fans will see the demise of Gizelle and Jamal’s relationship play out during season 6 of RHOP. In the season 6 trailer, Gizelle admits she’s struggling to keep her and Jamal’s long-distance relationship working.
Season 6 of The Real Housewives of Potomac premieres on July 11 at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
