Some people can’t escape trouble…and that sentiment rings true for former Real Housewives of New Jersey staple Daniel ‘Danny’ Provenzano.
If you remember, Danny appeared on RHONJ as Danielle Staub’s friend turned bodyguard who was tied to the mob and spent time in jail. Danny is the nephew of Anthony “Tony Pro” Provenzano, a captain in the Genovese crime family. He also served four-plus years in prison for racketeering charges.
Danny infamously caused a scene with Danielle at the Brownstone, a catering facility owned by the Manzo family. As any OG RHONJ fan knows, Danny spewed vile threats after being kicked out of a charity event at the Brownstone along with Danielle and fellow RHONJ villain Kim G.
Well, Danny has found himself in the headlines once again after a court ordered him to pay his ex-girlfriend $222,978 in damages.
This all stems from a November 2018 showdown between Danny and his former girlfriend, Patricia O’Neil. The two got into a fight over money she allegedly loaned him to fund his animated film “Wiseguys and Whackjobs.”
The police said that Danny threw O’Neil to the ground and slammed her arm in the door. In 2019, O’Neil sued Danny for “defamation and related claims.”
On Friday, May 28, O’Neil told Page Six that she sued Danny because he “spun a false narrative” about their violent run-in and attempted to cast her as a “spurned woman.”
Meanwhile, court papers reveal that Danny threatened and assaulted O’Neil. Danny never responded to the lawsuit, so in October 2020, judge Edgaro Ramos ordered him to pay “$222,978.00 in compensatory and punitive damages” to O’Neil.
Danny appealed, but on May 18, a judge dismissed the appeal because he failed to follow the appeal process.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey will return to Bravo for season 12 in late 2021 or early 2022.
