Jennifer Aydin may have fibbed just a little bit during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
On the April 28 episode of WWHL, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star claimed she doesn’t have a mortgage on her Paramus, NJ mansion.
“I found it interesting because I don’t have a mortgage,” Jennifer said in response to Jackie Goldschneider’s quip that the Aydin’s home had a “huge mortgage and no furniture.”
“I paid for this property cash, and we built it halfway, we paid with [a] bank check, and the rest was a construction loan to finish the build. So, I actually don’t have a mortgage. Check that, attorney!” she added.
However, new documents have to come to light that state otherwise.
Per Page Six, Jennifer and her husband, Bill Aydin, do, in fact, have a mortgage on their home.
The RHONJ couple secured a mortgage on their home in 2014 for $1.875 million-plus interest, which is set to be paid in full by June 1, 2044. The Mortgage document contains a construction rider that says the couple took out a construction loan to complete the building of their mansion. The payments were divvied out “in installments as the work progresses.”
Once the building was complete the couple had to pay off the remaining balance with interest every month.
A rep for Jennifer confirmed to Page Six that she does still owe money on her home via a construction loan. An insider adds that Jennifer wasn’t aware that the loan is considered a mortgage.
