Garcelle Beauvais reveals that season 11 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will dive deep into Erika Girardi’s personal life. According to Garcelle, Erika wasn’t afraid to get real about all the drama in her life.
“We don’t shy away from it,” Garcelle told Us Weekly. “The show doesn’t shy away from it. And Erika was amazing [in] that she was as honest as she was.”
According to Garcelle, season 11 will feature a lot of “really heavy issues.” Garcelle admits she’s proud of Erika for being so open about her divorce from estranged husband Tom Girardi and their various legal issues.
“She showed up, and I commend her for that, honestly,” she explained before adding that it was “absolutely” difficult to see her friend and co-star going through such a difficult time.
“I think you never want anyone to be in a bad place, you know, and it’s hard to watch when it’s a reality,” she confessed. “We’re not playing characters, so is this her real life? Yeah.”
As we’ve previously reported, Erika announced her split from husband Tom in November 2020 after 20 years of marriage. Since then, the former couple have been accused of embezzling $2 million worth of settlement funds from the Lion Air Flight 610 plane crash victims.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills returns to Bravo Wednesday, May 19, at 8 p.m. ET.
