The Big Daddy of Bravo has spoken!
In a new interview with Vulture, Andy Cohen says the Real Housewives shouldn’t be “on trial for their political and cultural views.”
The Watch What Happens Live host also defended controversial Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd.
“The line between celebrating someone’s outspokenness and not liking someone’s outspokenness is really blurring these days,” Andy said to Vulture. “Bravo is meant to be escapism, and I don’t personally think that the people on Bravo should be on trial for their political and cultural views. That doesn’t seem that fun to me!”
While Andy is not a fan of Kelly’s take on Covid-19 and lockdowns, noting that her views are “troublesome,” especially after she called the virus ‘God’s way of thinning the herd,’ he believes she is entitled to her opinion.
“I disagree with her point of view about COVID, but there are a lot of people who share her opinion,” Andy said. “And by the way, she is in Orange County, where her opinion is probably the prevailing opinion.”
RHOC is expected to return for season 16 in late 2021 or early 2022.
