The Real Housewives of Dallas season 5 reunion is shaping up to be quite a spectacle.
The season 5 reunion was filmed on Thursday, April 8, in New York City, but things weren’t exactly cut and dry.
Per the Real Housewives Franchise on Instagram, the season 5 reunion will be part virtual and part in-person. This will be a first for any Real Housewives franchise reunion.
The season 5 reunion was set to be an in-person event; however, things went awry when Kary Brittingham tested positive for COVID-19 after landing in New York City to film the reunion.
Due to Kary testing positive for COVID, Bravo was forced to change up their reunion plans. And since Brandi Redmond sat next to Kary on the flight to NYC, she was also forced to participate in the reunion virtually.
The remaining RHOD cast, including Stephanie Hollman, D’Andra Simmons, Kameron Westcott, and Tiffany Moon, filmed the reunion in person with host Andy Cohen.
Meanwhile, Dave Quinn hinted on Twitter that the season 5 reunion would be unlike any other reunion in Housewives history.
“I can say without exaggeration that we’re going to see something at the #RHOD reunion this year we’ve never seen at a Housewives reunion before,” Dave tweeted on April 8.
RHOD airs Tuesdays at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
Thoughts on this all? Do you think the reunion will be weird being half virtual and half in-person?
