The OC Housewives can’t escape the drama no matter how hard they try!
It’s no secret that the Real Housewives of Orange County cast has been a magnet for controversy over the last year or so, but things hit a fever pitch this week.
After a video from Emily Simpson‘s recent birthday celebration was spotted on social media, fans quickly slammed several RHOC cast members for hanging out with white supremacists.
In the video, Kelly Dodd, Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily, and several of Emily’s friends, can be seen dancing and having fun.
However, Emily’s friend, who has been identified as Deana Avila Linn, can also be seen allegedly flashing the white power sign.
If you don’t know, the white power sign has previously been known as the “ok” or “perfect” hand gesture. In 2019, the symbol was classified as a symbol of hate by the Anti-Defamation League.

Initally Kelly addressed the controversy in a now-deleted post on Instagram.
“Haters now accusing me of hanging with a white supremacist? Because she used an ok sign? For the record, it was Emily’s party & a friend, not mine, & @ginakirschenheiter was there along with an African American,” Kelly wrote.
She then went on to claim, yet again, that she’s “black” and that she “condemns racism.”
Kelly continued, “BTW, I’m part Mexican, Native American, Asian, & Black. I condemn all forms of racism. The cancel culture is idiotic, can’t fact check & is grasping for straws #idiots #wasteoftime.”
The outspoken RHOC star then took to Twitter to continue her rant.
“Here’s some dumbass who took Emily’s friend saying “perfect” (after talking about how perfect the night was) and is now twisting it into a case of white supremacy. Of course, it’s a white girl making such an idiotic leap. @BravoWWHL, this is who you have on? This chick is a moron,” Kelly tweeted.
“You’re calling some chick I barely know my ‘friend’ for no reason other than to try and make me look bad. Idk her, but I know a white supremacist wasn’t casually sitting at Emily’s birthday dinner with a table of minorities and flippantly throwing up terroristic gestures on vid,” she continued.
She added, “You posting stupid untrue shit like this is not only libelous, but it desensitizes actual racism going on… #dumbass.”
Initally, Kelly insisted Emily’s friend was only using the symbol to say the night was “perfect” and added that when you type “perfect” or “ok” on an Apple phone, the symbol comes up.
Kelly also claimed, “Emily wouldn’t associate with someone like that.”
However, Kelly then changed her tune and claimed she now knows the other meanings of the symbol but still insisted that it wasn’t the “intent” of Emily’s friend.
“Yes, I’m aware of that (now). I’m saying that clearly wasn’t the intent…” she tweeted. “I’ve already stated that I’m (now) aware that gesture has multiple horrific meanings, but it was clear her intention wasn’t that of white supremacy but rather to express she was having fun.”
Here are some photos from Kelly’s IG of her, Emily, Gina, and Emily’s friend Deana from the night of Emily’s birthday party.
Part two of the RHOC season 15 reunion airs on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
