Former New Jersey Housewife Dina Manzo may have some closure in the violent attack that took place against her husband a few years ago. According to People.com “Alleged Lucchese crime family soldier John Perna has pleaded guilty to assaulting Dina Manzo’s husband in 2015.” According to reports, Dina’s now husband David Cantin was assaulted after Perna was allegedly hired to carry out the attack. In a strange turn of events, the agreement was made “in exchange for a deeply discounted wedding reception to be held at Manzo’s upscale Passaic County venue.”
According to the report: “Perna, who is a ‘made man’ in the Lucchese Crime Family, planned and carried out the assault on July 18, 2015, with the help of a member of his crew. In exchange for committing the assault, Perna held a lavish wedding reception at Manzo’s restaurant, just one month later, for a fraction of the price he would otherwise have paid. The reception was attended by over 330 guests, many of whom were members of the Lucchese Crime Family.”
While rumors of Dina’s ex Tommy Manzo hiring Perna for he attack have been floating around, according to the report: “Mr. Perna, during his plea of guilty, never mentioned that he was involved in this activity, directly or indirectly, with Mr. Manzo. To me, that is evidence of exoneration of Mr. Manzo.”
Despite Dina and her husband staying silent on this disturbing matter, her sister Caroline spoke out to Extra this past spring, commenting: “We are heartbroken. This is family on both sides. I want to know the truth and my allegiance will lie with the truth.”
