The Real Housewives of Orange County newbie scored an incredible divorce settlement that will leave her set up for success for the rest of her life.
According to The Sun, Elizabeth scored a whopping $31k a month in alimony. The hefty sum was calculated by comparing Elizabeth’s $1,721 monthly income to her ex-husband’s $86,955 monthly salary. Elizabeth is the CEO of an online music group, while Bernt owns American Seafood Group.
That sum also includes an $11,368.09 mortgage payment on Elizabeth’s $5m Newport Beach home that she also won in the divorce. The beachfront mansion boasts three bedrooms and four bathrooms. Her alimony total also covers the monthly payments on her 2012 Range Rover and her 2012 Bentley.
Bernt must also disclose any bonus income and profit distributions he earns as Elizabeth is entitled to 37.7 percent of said funds.
Elizabeth filed for divorce from Bernt in April 2017 after five years of marriage. The RHOC newbie cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce; however, Elizabeth later revealed on RHOC that Bernt got another woman pregnant during their marriage. This betrayal was especially difficult for Elizabeth to handle as Bernt claimed never to want children.
At the time, she also requested spousal support, which Bernt initially fought. In May 2017, the billionaire demanded the court terminate their ability to award Elizabeth spousal support; however, by December of that same year, Bernt was singing a different tune and agreed to pay up.
In December 2017, Bernt agreed to pay Elizabeth the hefty alimony sum until “either parties’ death, Petitioner’s remarriage, or until further order of [the] court.”
Fast forward to nearly three years later, and the former couple’s divorce is finalized.
So, what does Elizabeth plan to do with her money? Well, she’s already spent a bit spoiling her RHOC co-stars.
As we reported earlier this week, Elizabeth spoiled the RHOC cast with Louis Vuitton face masks that retail for $490 each.
Elizabeth also seems to be using some of the money from her divorce settlement to fund her latest venture – Vargas Vodka. According to the budding brand’s Instagram page, “Vargas Vodka is inspired by the legend of Queen Califia, the emperor of the fabled island of California—- blessed with gold.”
