This comes after Jim took to Instagram stories and called Meghan and their three kids “tenants” while claiming that she left him a “dirty, messy” house.
As we previously reported, the former Real Housewives of Orange County star recently purchased a five-bedroom, five-bathroom $800K craftsman style home in St. Louis for herself and her three young children – four-year-old daughter, Aspen, and her two-year-old twin sons, Hayes and Hart.
That means that Meghan and her kids moved out of the former home she shared with Jim until their split in October 2019, when Jim moved out and eventually moved into the dream home they had spent the last two years building.
After Meghan vacated said home, which Jim owned, the former MLB star returned to the house to survey the property. Not surprisingly, Jim shared the entire experience on Instagram stories and didn’t miss the opportunity to bash his soon-to-be ex-wife.
“Today’s the big day. I got my house back,” Jim said in a series of videos on his Instagram Stories on Thursday, December 10. “Tenants moved out, and I get to clean it up and put it up for sale. Hopefully, somebody cleaned it up a little bit, but we will see.”
Initially, Jim documented just “a few things,” but as he continued going through the house, his demeanor went from annoyed to extremely annoyed.
“Not used to this landlord stuff here,” he said from behind the camera. “I didn’t realize that someone would leave a house this dirty and messy. I have four people in here throwing trash away that was just left behind.”
He went on to detail “lots of fingerprints” on his kitchen appliances and “more trash” in the bathroom as well as “some poop in the toilet.”
Meanwhile, Meghan detailed her final moments in her former home on Instagram and reminisced about all the happy memories created in the home.
“I have the contents of my freezer in the grocery bags, and I’m OUT! I cried as I left my beautiful former home ?? of 6 1/2 years and thanked it for all the lovely memories as I walked through each room: bringing home all 3 of my babies here, having some GREAT laughs with friends, hosting my family for holidays. But the era has ended, and now it’s time for this mama to shine – solo. May only happiness and joy exude from my new house and may my old house be purchased by a family who will love it as much as I did. ? Onward and upward,” Meghan wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her in the home.
Meghan later explained in the comments of her post that she “hired my cleaning lady to clean. She actually cleaned today (coordinated with my ex but I provided and paid for her). What happened?”
In response to Jim’s video, Meghan told Us Weekly, “I’m going through an emotionally heavy transition, and I’m choosing to only look for the positive because the negative is too much for me to take on right now. I’m very excited to be in my new home with my children!”
“It took close to a year to get Meghan to finally leave the house so Jim could put it up for sale, and when she finally did vacate, she left the place looking like a pigsty,” a source tells Us Weekly. “There was garbage everywhere, and everything was dirty. In addition, she removed community property from the house without asking.”
However, a second source counters, telling the gossip outlet, “Meghan hired a cleaning person to go to the home early this morning, but Jim had already changed the code, so the cleaner couldn’t enter. Meghan then arranged for the cleaner to return at 1 p.m. (in fact, she’s still there cleaning now), and Meghan communicated this information to Jim this morning. Jim should be celebrating becoming a grandfather [earlier this week] rather than attempting to humiliate his soon-to-be ex-wife by showing her toilet on Instagram.”
Meghan later shared a positive quote about creating a happy home on Instagram.
“My home is filled with toys, has fingerprints on everything, and is never quiet,” the quote read on her Instagram Story. “My hair is usually a mess, and I’m always tired, but there is always LOVE AND LAUGHTER. In twenty years, my children won’t remember the house or my hair, but they will REMEMBER the time we spent together and the LOVE they felt.”
She didn’t stop there and then posted another motivational quote about moving forward.
“Be thankful that you’re not where you used to be in life. You’ve outgrown so much, and you’re still learning. You’ve survived a lot, and it made you a better person,” the quote read. “Give yourself credit for making it this far. Some of your best days are ahead of you. Keep going, and don’t give up.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
