Twisting the truth?
Jax Taylor is insisting that he quit Vanderpump Rules despite reports claiming he was fired from the show.
The former SURver announced his departure from Pump Rules on Friday evening on Instagram.
Bravo quickly confirmed that Jax and his wife Brittany Cartwright would not be returning to the show.
A spokesperson for the network told Variety that “Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules.”
Shortly after the news of Jax and Brittany’s exit went viral, Jax began to claim on Instagram that he chose to quit the show ahead of season 9.
According to Jax, he quit Pump Rules for his family because it no longer made sense to be a part of the show.
“We want to do something more family-related,” Jax told fans. “I just couldn’t see myself doing this same type of show with a child. My marriage and family are more important. I am excited now to be a fan.”
He continued, “Because it’s time to move on…we had a good run. It doesn’t make sense anymore.”
While Jax is “excited to be a fan,” that didn’t stop him from shading his former show and its questionable storylines. He also confirmed that he “fake” worked at SUR for the last 5 years.
“I can’t fake work at SUR at 41 anymore,” Jax said. Adding that he’s done that “for the last 5 years,” and now that he’s having a baby, “it makes zero sense.”
In typical Jax fashion, he didn’t stop there.
Jax then hinted that he and Brittany are doing their own more family-related reality show.
“[We] will be on TV just not this show,” Jax claimed.
A fan suggested, “Start your own show,” to which Jax hinted, “Stay tuned. We are just getting started.”
Jax then took a shot at Bravo with the help of Kristen Doute’s boyfriend Alex Menache.
Alex commented, “Happy for you guys! On to bigger and better and not working with the Bravo hypocrites anymore!”
“LOL,” Jax replied along with a blushing-happy face emoji.
It’s unclear when or if Bravo will begin filming for season 9 of Vanderpump Rules.
