Teresa Giudice is finally getting her happily ever after following years of trials and tribulations.
“Teresa says she’s taking it slow, but she’s madly in love with Louie. And while her daughters miss their dad, they all think it’s great that their mom is happy,” a source tells In Touch. “They’ve all met Louie, and they like him.”
“Out of respect for her girls and Joe, she waited until her divorce was final to say anything,” the source adds.
It turns out Louie’s ex-wife, Marisa DiMartino, is also “really happy” for the new couple.
“I’m really happy for Teresa and Luis. I’m happy for him,” she revealed to In Touch.
“Luis is actually the father of my children, and he’s a really good person. In general, we got married, we were very young and had babies, and then it fell apart. As normal things happen,” she explained about their former marriage. “We’re very good with each other, and that’s basically it.”
When asked if she thinks Teresa and Luis make a good couple, she explained that she’s “not concerned” because “He takes care of me and my children, and that’s what it comes down to.”
While Luis seems like Teresa’s knight in shining armor, this wouldn’t be a Real Housewives relationship without a little scandal now, would it?
According to documents obtained by The Sun, Luis has been accused of “controlling and abusive behavior” by an ex-fiancée. Said ex-fiancée filed a lawsuit against Luis on April 15, 2020, in New Jersey.
The lawsuit claims that the “controlling and abusive behavior” allegedly started right after they got engaged in February 2019 and lasted until October 2019.
“In October 2019, [Louie] abandoned [his ex-fiancée] in Provincetown, Massachusetts and then padlocked [her] out of the [New Jersey] home that they shared,” the lawsuit claimed. “After some other instances of controlling, abusive behavior, [Louie] gave [his ex-fiancée] various gifts to induce [her] to continue her relationship with him.”
The name of Luis’s ex has not been released, but we do know that she is a licensed social worker. According to the lawsuit, Luis founded a social work company during their relationship. He made her believe that the company was a “gift” to her and that she would have complete control of it; however, that never happened. Instead, she claims he “arrogated unto himself” entire control of the business.
She also claims Luis did this “with the intent to destroy and tortuously interfere with [her] business as a licensed social worker and to seek personal revenge against [her].” Adding that she believed he was resolute to cause her to “suffer severe mental distress.”
On top of all that, she insists Luis “threatened” to “damage her educational degree in social work and her license as a social worker” and “contact her friends to damage her reputation.” He also allegedly “refused” to allow his ex to collect her belongings from the New Jersey home they shared.
Luis’s ex untimely dropped the lawsuit on May 20. It’s unclear if a private settlement was reached.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey will return to Bravo in early 2021.
