Garcelle Beauvais will be returning for season 11 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
As we previously reported, Garcelle confirmed her return for another season of drama during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“I am returning to the Housewives, yes,” Garcelle confessed. “You know, you gotta be a little, a little brave. A little scared. A little ready. I mean, it’s all those things, and I say it with a laugh because I’m ready, but you’re never really ready.”
Sophmore seasons of Real Housewives are notoriously difficult for Housewives, especially in Beverly Hills. Over the years, sophomore seasons of RHOBH have brought fans panty-gate, puppy-gate, and the demise of Denise Richards and Lisa Rinna’s long-running friendship.
“That’s what I’m afraid of,” Garcelle admits. “So, here we go, you know? And I sorta got a warning from Ms. Rinna, so we’ll see. I’m ready though, bring it.”
Speaking of Lisa, Garcelle is unsure how the two will move forward in their friendship after season 10. Lisa’s treatment of Denise left “a bad taste” in Garcelle’s mouth. Plus, it’s no secret that Garcelle took Denise’s side in the drama. She infamously called out Lisa’s “attacks” on Denise “every time you see her.”
Garcelle and Lisa have shared a friendship for more than 20 years, but Garcelle has made it known that the Lisa she knows is not the same Lisa fans see on RHOBH.
“The Rinna that I knew before Housewives is what I can really speak to, you know,” she says. “She was fun, she was supportive, she was nice, she was kind, and I get it — we’re shooting a TV show, and I get that drama is a part of it — but I think she took it to a level that was not a good look.”
When it comes to season 11, Garcelle also chimed in on Lisa’s recent Instagram story, where she asked fans to beg Bravo to bring the “fun, laughter, and glamour” back to RHOBH.
“I didn’t see that, but I heard that she did that,” Garcelle says in response. “I don’t know where that’s coming from.”
It turns out Lisa isn’t the only Beverly Hills Housewife Garcelle is worried about when it comes to season 11.
Garcelle says that she and Kyle Richards have a lot of hash out when the Bravo cameras start rolling again. Kyle and Garcelle did not get off on the best foot when season 10 began; however, their issues only intensified as the season went on. At the reunion, Kyle accused Garcelle of flaking on a pledged $5000 charitable donation. The issue has been resolved, and Garcelle has made good on her donation; however, Garcelle says Kyle should have handled the situation privately.
“I have no idea how that’s going to go, but it’s really important to me that her and I sit down right away and hash it out — or talk it through; however you want to put it,” she says.
Hashing it out with Kyle may be easier during season 11 as Kyle won’t have her sidekick Teddi Mellencamp around. However, Kyle will have a new ally on the show in the form of her sister Kathy Hilton. Kathy is reportedly joining RHOBH as a friend of the Housewives for season 11. As for Teddi, she revealed in September that Bravo did not ask her back for another season.
“I met Kathy at a few dinners. She seems like a lovely lady,” Garcelle offers. “That seems like an ally, obviously, for Kyle, and you know the more, the merrier. … I don’t want to throw shade, I haven’t spent time with her. Let me spend time with her, and we’ll go from there.”
As for the rumored new Housewife Crystal Kung Minkoff, Garcelle says, “I don’t know her,” but admits she “probably will” meet her soon.
Garcelle also notes that she welcomes the additional diversity Bravo is trying to bring to RHOBH. She then admits that she would love to see Bravo bring even more diversity to the franchise, including more black women.
A prime example is the season 10 happy hour between Garcelle and girlfriends. Fans loved that moment, and some called for Bravo to immediately hire Garcelle’s gal pals on the show.
“The response has been incredible, and when we’re together, you know, it’s so much fun,” Garcelle says of her close circle of friends. “We’re not trying to shade each other or anything like that. If we do, it’s out of fun. So, I would love to see more of that, and I think Bravo does, too.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is expected to return for season 11 in mid-2021.
